Wonder Woman – Movie Review (Non-Spoiler)

wonder-woman

I know this is a bit late, and better late than never!

Lets jump right into the DC saver movie. “Wonder Woman” directed by “Patty Jenkins” is an American superhero film base on the DC character with the same name. The main character was played by the beautiful Gal Gadot and she is stunning!

I just want to state that I am someone who never read any Wonder Woman comics, but yea, we as Indians mostly know Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. The movie was released in India on June 2nd, 2017 and I was able to get a ticket for the same day, even if I was not at my hometown at that time.

The movie starts out with a scene related to the BvS movie, and then quickly leads us into the beautiful Themyscira, were we get to see the Amazonian Warriors, their battle practices and the childhood of Diana aka Wonder Woman. The movie is an origin story for the DC character Diana/Wonder Woman, which starts out at Themyscira then soon moves on to World War I.

Without giving too much out of the movie, let me just say that it is one of the best DC movies and for me, just behind the Batman triology movies (I know that you all will say WW is better than those, its just a personal choice). I read some reviews saying this movie to be better than “The Dark Knight”, but for me this comes to a second place in the DC universe. The movie is light, and it gets its shades of darkness when it comes to the World War scenario.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is amazing and I have never seen a majestically beautiful woman than she is. Everything she does it amazing, from her smile to holding a tank over her head!

The movie was able to give out a message too without forcing the message too much onto the viewers mind.

We have to give credit to Chris Pine also, who played the role of Steve Trevor. He was impressive and he never tried to make himself look formidable than that of the main character played by  Gal Gadot.

Overall it is an impressive movie, a must watch for all DC movie fans, for all those who love super hero movies, and for all those who just want to watch a good movie worth their money.

The movie have a lot of World War scenes, but not too bloody as we see in other war movies, so I can say that it is enjoyable with kids too (who will definitely love this super heroin)

Go and watch!

Godha – Malayalam Movie Review

This is the post excerpt.

Godha Godha is Malayalam movie directed by Basil Joseph, starring Tovino Thomas, Wamiqa Gabbi and Renji Panicker in the lead roles.

godha-2

Godha movie was released on last friday (19/05/2017) accross Kerala and it received mostly good reviews.

For me, I went in with not much expectations and came out smiling and satisfied. I went in because a friend of mine told me that it will be good and Tovino is a good actor (I have never seen his movies before).

The first part of the movie was ok, and the second part after the interval was really good, and above my expectations. I did not mean that the movie will get any awards, but it is a total entertainer.

Tovino in the lead male role did a good job, but the shining star of the movie was Wamiqa Gabbi, as the lead female. She did a fantastic job even if she did not speak a single Malayalam word (she said “namaskaram” in a speech) and the focus of the movie was on her. At this point you may think like the movie is a copy of “Dangal”, which is not.

The movie is based on the Indian sport of wrestling, but it is a totally different take than that of “Dangal”. It had its fun moments, it had its laughs.

The sidekick’s of Tovino’s main charector acted well, and the standout part of the movie is its songs and background score.

Shan Rahman did a wonderful job with the background score and all the songs were great!

What I liked the most: Songs and the intro scene of the movie.

What I did not like  much: First half was little slow paced

Spiderman Homecoming – Non-Spoiler Review

Just back from the movie and here is my review. First of all we got to compare the movie with the old flicks right? Before that I need to say that I never read the comics but watched a few cartoons when I was a kid. So, for me the spiderman I saw on the big screen was my first full experience which featured Tobey Maguire, which I liked. For me the origin story shown in that first film will always be a favorite.

So, lets get into ‘homecoming’ without spoiling anything. Like any Marvel movie this one is fun and I think that they got a good villain here. The biggest complaint for marvel movies were a proper badass villain, and I dont want to say that they solved the issue, still “vulture” was bad enough.

We are getting what we saw in the trailers. There are no big surprises but totally enjoyable (for me spiderman movies are always enjoyable). Thankfully, there is not too much Ironman too.

To be honest, i must say that in the DC vs Marvel situation I am slightly leaning towards the DC side now as the marvel movies are all following the same pattern. This doesnt mean that Spiderman Homecoming is not up to the expectations, but means that Marvel should get more creative with their future movies.

To sum it up, good movie for everyone. Grab a popcorn and enjoy the ride!

Sachin A Billion Dreams – Movie Review

Review for the movie Sachin a Billion Dreams

Its the film we all have been waiting for, and here it played out in the smallest theater in the town. Missed my morning show and somehow got tickets for the next show.

Here is the review!

_cd24caf8-f1c5-11e6-8b6e-25a65c287ec4

As expected it is a biopic and people were cheering! The first shot shown was pretty epic that of a drawing of the back of Sachin Tendulkar with the number “10” on his back. To simply put, its a movie for the Sachin fans like me who do not want any drama to be played out but to have a sincere biopic like this. It took me back in time, as my life was pretty much connected to the events happened in the movie.

Its a good watch, especially for those who lived their youth in the era of Sachin. The background score by A.R.Rahman was apt and timely and to hear the Sachin chant in a movie theater was heartfilling.

I dont want to give out much, I believe its a movie to be watched without checking any reviews! Its Sachin, and we do anything for him.

Note: Go with friends who share the same enthusiasm for Sachin and cricket of those times. I had two kids sitting next to me checking their mobile phones..huh!
